Biography
Her work focuses on ensuring that students leave university not only with legal knowledge, but with the confidence, competence and ethical grounding required to contribute meaningfully to justice and society. Under her leadership, the faculty continues to strengthen teaching, student development and collaborative learning environments that help aspiring legal professionals succeed.
A key example of this commitment is the development of systems such as RADAR, an early-warning academic support framework that enables educators to identify students who may need support and intervene early so that more students are able to complete their studies and thrive.
Dr Biggs has also contributed to shaping legal education nationally through her involvement in the Council on Higher Education’s review of the LLB qualification, helping ensure that law programmes remain rigorous, relevant and responsive to the needs of society.
Beginning with BCom Law and LLB studies and culminating in an LLM (cum laude) and a Doctor of Laws, her academic path reflects a lifelong commitment to understanding how law can better serve people and institutions.
Today her leadership continues to emphasise teamship: the belief that implementation requires excellence but intentionality requires care. And when those two meet?
