Biography
A key driver of organisational culture and talent development, Dr Sishuba promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, performance excellence and employee wellbeing. Her leadership supports an enabling environment in which academic, professional, administrative and support staff can thrive and contribute to the University’s teaching, research and community engagement mandate.
Dr Sishuba holds an MSc in Public Policy and Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London; an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University; United States, an M Admin in Industrial Psychology from the University of Fort Hare; and a PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of South Africa. She is a registered industrial psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and a Master HR Practitioner with the South African Board for People Practices.
With more than 30 years of experience across higher education and the public sector, she held senior roles including Senior Director: People & Institutional Capability at Mandela University; Deputy Director General for Policy Planning, Coordination and Monitoring; and Head of the Department of Human Settlements in the Eastern Cape Provincial Administration. She also served in specialised human capital and change management roles within the Office of the Premier and the Department of Health, as well as earlier human resource leadership positions at the University of Fort Hare.
