Biography
Her work reflects a strong foundation in research and postgraduate supervision, with a focus on transdisciplinary collaboration, strengthening scholarly capacity, supporting the advancement of emerging academics and continuous professional development. Prof Grobler has a strong national and international academic network and has contributed to institutional strategy and academic frameworks that support curriculum innovation, equity, student success and research impact.
She is nationally recognised as a leader in health sciences and was appointed by the Minister of Health to serve on the Medical Technology Board of the Health Professions Council of South Africa from 2020 - 2025. During this term she served as Chair of the Education, Training and Registration Committee, Executive Committee member of the Medical Technology Board and as a member of the Education, Training and Quality Assurance Committee of Council.
She holds a DTech in Biomedical Technology from Durban University of Technology and an MTech from Central University of Technology.
Throughout her career, she has held senior academic and leadership roles. Prior to joining Nelson Mandela University in 2025, she was the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching and Learning, and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Applied & Computer Sciences at Vaal University of Technology.
