Biography
Prof Moeng has extensive experience in academic leadership and scholarship, contributing to research and policy discussions on teaching and learning, and higher education development. She is widely recognised for her commitment to academic excellence, student success and transformative education.
She has played a pivotal role in advancing curriculum transformation and decolonisation initiatives, strengthening blended and online learning models, and embedding student-centred pedagogies across the institution. She is committed to fostering environments where diverse student voices are recognised and where academic staff are empowered through continuous professional development.
Prof Moeng’s postgraduate qualifications include a Master of Science (MSc) in Curriculum and Instruction from St Cloud State University in the United States, and a Doctor of Education (DEd) from Nelson Mandela University. Before taking up her position as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Learning and Teaching, She was the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education at Nelson Mandela University for seven years.
Her leadership has supported the development of responsive academic programmes that prepare graduates to thrive in complex and rapidly changing environments. Her approach reflects a deep belief in the transformative power of education to advance social justice and sustainable development.
