Graduation in absentia

23/04/2020

Graduation in absentia for students who completed their qualifications during the 2019 academic year. April is the annual Graduation season at Nelson Mandela University. As previously shared the Autumn Graduation season has been postponed to later in the year due to the current lockdown announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

In order to enable students who have completed their academic qualifications to receive their graduation certificates without having to wait for the postponed ceremonies, the University Executive Committee of Senate resolved to award qualifications in absentia. We are pleased to announce that the qualifications will be awarded at a special Executive Committee of Senate meeting on Friday, 24 April 2020 that will be presided over by the Chancellor, Dr Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, as provided for in the Statute of the University.

Graduating students will receive individualised communication providing information on how to receive their certificates, subject to the conditions of the lockdown.

The University wishes to salute the achievement of each graduate, their family and the staff who were instrumental in helping them reach this pinnacle in their lives.

Halala, congratulations, knap gedaan!
