Nelson Mandela University joins Five Days of Mourning Call

Nelson Mandela University will be marking its online content black in response to the call by President Cyril Ramaphosa to spend five days – from 25 to 29 November – as a country wearing black to mourn those lost to COVID-19 and those impacted by GBV at this time.

Since the University cannot collectively come together wearing black, all institutional content – from our websites through to Memos – will be dressed with a black “five days of mourning” holding device from Wednesday to Sunday this week.

The branded device (as shared on this MEMO) is equally aimed at reminding us of the devastating impact of the virus through our failure to comply to COVID-19 prevention measures. Please feel free, as with our COVID-19 awareness and education posters, to share freely with others.

Our collective effort is the only way we will manage to contain the virus.

Please continue to wear your mask, keep your distance from others, avoid crowds and practice good health hygiene.
