Delivered fresh to your door

04/05/2020

Student entrepreneurs Vuyo Tutu and Lonwabo Myoli certainly are serving the community and proving that Together We Can – particularly during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Their self-started company Veg To You delivers fresh produce to your door at more competitive prices than the supermarkets.

They currently employ five staff members, most of whom have been absorbed from the restaurant industry who were out of work as a result of the lockdown.

They started the business in 2019 after having identified that there was a gap in the market for fruit and vegetable delivery services. Most delivery services were for fast food and did not cater for the health-conscious individual.

Lonwabo (pictured far right) is the Managing Director of the company and a BCom Law Graduate. This year he is studying towards his LLB.

His business partner, Vuyo (pictured 2nd from right), is a BCom Economics student and also the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) convenor for Mandela University. The EDHE programme was established at the end of 2016 with its main aim to mobilise the national student and graduate resource to create successful enterprises that will ultimately lead to both wealth and job creation. Vuyo is one of the founders of the student society, Ecosystem, focussing on creating an entrepreneurial mindset amongst students.

They deliver Monday to Saturday and customers place their orders via WhatsApp, receiving their delivery the following day. You will find their business on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/VegForYou1/
