Medical Laboratory Scientists process and analyse blood or tissue samples, assisting doctors with diagnoses. They work in medical laboratories and can also be required to prepare serums and vaccines and become involved in medical research.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Health Science: Medical Laboratory Science having obtained an average of at least 60% for such a degree, or another qualification deemed to be equivalent thereto.
Note: All candidates will be subject to a departmental selection process that will include the following:
· A NQF level 8 degree in a Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences field.
· A NQF level 8 degree in medicine or a related degree in the Clinical Sciences, Sciences, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy field.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Holders of an MHSc Medical Laboratory Science or other qualification approved by Senate may be accepted. The general admission requirements for post-graduate studies of the Faculty will also apply.
· A master’s degree in a Nano Medicine and Related Clinical Sciences field.
