In the wilderness I am lost and I am found.
To lose myself is to find myself anew.
Delighted in the moment of life-giving breath,
Experiencing all the wonders presented around me,
The trees, the flowers, the sky, the mountains,
the unique aromas,
The sounds of birds, the sensation of soft breeze
on my melanin skin
This pleasure is all mine to cherish.
I am inextricably bound to this earth,
The environment, the people, all is connected.
At the culmination of this journey,
The pilgrim returns home,
Only to discover that meaning lies in the familiar,
Of one’s own world.
I am the seeker of these many truths,
I am a pilgrim on this earth.
