Assessment Criteria
Criteria 3: Communication and dissemination of knowledge and
expertise

As noted above the research findings of the project have been disseminated to wider audiences via publications in
accredited journals and conference presentations and proceedings (Papers, Conferencve proceedings AND
Conference presentations). The PhD studies are available online from the NMMU library (PhDs and MEds) and we
have reported regularly to our DG Murray donors (click here AND click here) and the Hermann Olthaver Trust (click
here for 2010 report AND here for 2011 report). The project has also reported regularly to the participants (click here)
and stakeholders via meetings and information sessions and regular planning meetings have been held with the
Department of Education. The modes of dissemination to the participants and stakeholders have included action
research report-back conferences, certification ceremonies, formal meetings, strategic planning sessions, and
information sessions.

The sharing of our engagement practices within the university have been presentations made at the Faculty of
Education Seminar Series, presentations at Faculty Board meetings and a standing slot on the Faculty of Education FMC
meeting agenda.

The project has ethical approval from the NMMU Ethics Committee and we have always worked closely with the
Department of Education to ensure we do not inadvertently violate any ethical standards they require.
