Vaccination Registration Support

With Phase 2 of the country’s vaccination rollout programme underway, everyone over the age of 60, including any staff members or students, is urged to register for the vaccination.

Electronic Vaccination Data System

Those who do not have access to the Department of Health’s Electronic Vaccine Data System (EVDS) via their devices (laptops and smartphones), can make use of WhatsApp as is explained below.

Over 60s Staff Vaccination Training

The University, through its Human Resources division, is presently engaging directly with all staff in this age category in terms of education and training.

If you have not yet heard from HR, please contact hr@mandela.ac.za

Specific support is also being provided to staff members who may not have access to the internet, especially within our Support Services division.

WhatsApp Option
For those who do not have access to a laptop or internet, you may self-register via WhatsApp by:

  • Sending the word Register to 0600 123 456
  • You will be greeted with a message welcoming you to the service and outlining what documents you need to register.
  • You will be asked to review and agree to the policy regarding personal information and protection thereof.
  • If you are not over 60, you will be given the option to be notified as soon as you are eligible for the vaccine

No WhatsApp?
If you do not have WhatsApp, you can also register by dialing *134*832* and sending your ID number.
