Dancing by example … ‘It is in your hands’

14/09/2020

Whether it is fighting a pandemic, changing your behaviour or boosting morale – ‘It is in your hands’.

And so, in leading by example, the University is challenging staff and students to show and share what you are doing by practicing prevention measures, encouraging changed behaviours and boosting wellness and morale.

Like the Catering teams at North  and Second Avenue campuses, Communication and Marketing is the latest team to meet (while practicing all prevention measures) after working remotely for six months, to have fun with the #JerusalemaChallenge. The song, called Jerusalema by South African musician and producer Master KG featuring Nomcebo, is a worldwide hit, that has been made popular through the dance.

Word on the street is that the Student Health Services team dances every morning too.

But what are you and your friends or team doing to chase away the blues and stay in touch while still remaining safe as you wear your masks, wash or sanitise your hands and practice social distancing?

Let us know (email cm@mandela.ac.za). In sharing, we hope to be able to inspire one another. We need to do all that we can to counter a second surge of infections as more and more of us return to campus in the midst of the pandemic.

It is in your hands!
