The reason for the decision, which apparently impacts other vaccination centres across the district, is a current shortage of vaccines due to the early vaccinating of the 35-49 year old category which was only meant to start on 1 August.
Over 50s who have not yet started their vaccination journey may still get the two-shot Pfizer jab at the University’s Centre as well as those who are due to receive their second Pfizer jabs. Vaccinations will also continue to be administered to those who work in essential services.
Those in the 35-49 age group who arrived at our Centre earlier this morning were accommodated and individuals who may still arrive, will be directed to other sites where there is stock available.
The situation remains fluid, but we continue to adapt to offer this service.
In the interim, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
